Quality of education is extremely poor. The instructors couldn't care less whether students pass or fail, in fact, I was advised to withdraw from a course by an instructor via. email. The enrollment process took forever and I then wasn't able to take courses that I need or wanted to take. The enrollment director was rude to myself and my mother who went in to the college to sort out enrollment. Please keep in mind that my family and I moved to Colorado and so we drove from there to Williston in order to figure this out. I am extremely disappointed. I know several friends who have dropped out of WSC because their education was suffering and they then did better by enrolling as an online student with a different college. I do not suggest this to anyone, it's a very poor option for students, whether it's free for 2 years because you got the grant from Williston High School or not.

Williston State College is a place where students get individual attention in each of their classes, a stark contrast to the four-year schools on the eastern side of North Dakota. Every professor made it a point to know every student's name, which was incredible for me. I never went to class and felt unwanted, or as though I was a burden to my professors' research time. The college offers several interesting courses each semester, and, from my own experiences, the variety in the classes offers students a well-rounded two-year education for a very manageable price.

One of the things I like most about this school, is the fact that they offer online courses. I thought I wouldn't like them but I have found that they are great at providing all of the information you need in the course. They help you understand the material and even with the online courses the teachers are a huge help.

I can't say enough about Williston State College. I got my start here 4 years ago; it's been quite an adventure ever since. During the years I was enrolled and the years directly after, I was employed by Petroleum Services Inc. in town. Such employment was made possible by connections through the College. In turn, Petroleum Services enabled me to raise funds to attend a 4 year school full time. Last year I applied and got accepted to Columbia University (yes, the ivy league one), The University of Virginia, and The College of William and Mary (where I now attend as an applied math major).

I can't say enough about this college. Beautiful campus; friendly, available staff; stellar employment connections; high-end dorms; great sports; great community.....I can list 'em all day!

Luv the place.

Best 10k I've ever spent!
